In the case of painted surfaces, the pores of the wood remain permanently closed. This has the disadvantage that the wood can no longer breathe as usual and thus loses its natural nature. The advantage, on the other hand, is that it is better protected against dirt in this way and the piece of furniture is therefore significantly more easy to care for than oiled or waxed surfaces.

As mentioned at the beginning, the maintenance of a painted surface does not require any particularly great effort. Here you can easily use a slightly damp cloth to free the pieces of furniture from dirt, dust and other contaminants. When the furniture painted high-gloss, you should be careful not to take a fine cotton cloth (no fiber or dust towels) to avoid unnecessary scratches or unsightly streaks.

It is not a must, but if you still want to do something good for your painted furniture and want to prevent them from losing their shine, we recommend using solvent -free furniture polish two to three times a year. Do not use high-gloss solvents or alcohol-containing polishes/cleaners, as they only attack the surface of the wood and leave a rough and matt impression.

What if the piece of furniture has got some scratches or dents? UNIGHTINGS OF THE THE STARE STROVES can hardly be repaired with their own hands and should therefore be left to professionals. Caution is better than fortight: Always use soft coaches to protect the surface from hard -edged objects or other dirt.

Surfaces treated with wax behave similarly to oiled surfaces, with the difference that the wax creates an additional protective layer against contaminants. Here, too, the wax penetrates pores of the wood, but not too deep, which is why the wood can continue to breathe freely. Through this treatment, the piece of furniture comes into its own even better and has a shine that has a particularly long -lasting and appealing effect. It is also easier to fix stubborn contaminants, smaller dents or scratches.

As with the maintenance of oiled surfaces, the use of wet or damp cloths must also be avoided here! Although the wax acts like an extra layer of the surface of the furniture, too much water would penetrate the pores and can thus damage the structure of the wood. Therefore, we prefer to advise a slightly foggy cloth (preferably a cotton cloth) to remove smaller contaminants.

The surface should be treated two to three times a year because the shine fades over time. Here it is important to clean the surface from dust or dirt before treatment. Then they apply rather economical and in the maserative direction of the furniture wax on the surface to be treated and leave the remedy for a few hours.

Deeper scratches or stubborn stains (including water, heat and fire stains) are a little more difficult to remove. The use of fine lubricating gel or sandpaper is not saved. Here it is important to roughly roughen the affected area (always always in the masking direction) so that there are no bumps on the piece of furniture. Once this is done, you completely free the residues of the loops from the piece of furniture and then apply a suitable wax care product all over the entire area.
Tip: Smaller scratches, on the other hand, are quickly done with simple household tips, such as rubbing in a peeled walnut/peanut or wax stick with the corresponding color at the affected area.

If one of your furniture shows a dent, this is no reason to panic. Here, too, we have a good tip for you:
Place a warm damp cloth at the intelled area. Then iron the area with a little pressure and steam. But be careful that you shouldn't get on the wood with the iron to avoid unnecessary fire spots. If everything is to your satisfaction, treat the area with a furniture wax agent after drying out.
