It should be noted, especially for small children, that some substances can be dangerous and should be avoided in products:

»» Solvents, alcohols and cooling substances such as mint and menthol can quickly lead to hypothermia. This can disrupt the blood-brain barrier, which in turn can lead to hallucinations. These components also cause severe burning in the eyes and mucous membranes.
»» Essential oils can have allergenic potential in babies and cause respiratory blockage.
»» Preservatives can be dermatologically questionable.
»» DEET is suspected of being carcinogenic. (DEET is used in no one Product used by BALLISTOL!)

For this reason we use in Stitch-free kids the safe repellent IR 3535 (ethyl butyl acetylaminopropionate) which was also recommended by the WHO (World Health Organization) and the French Ministry of Health for children from 2 months and pregnant women (source: Internet, during the Chinkungunya cases 2005/2006).

For the reasons mentioned above, additional materials were not used in order to protect the sensitive skin of babies and children and not to cause complications. Applying it as a lotion, which is absorbed very quickly, prevents accidental rubbing into the eyes and mucous membranes.

Stitchfree  Kids is available as a lotion in a 5 g sachet, a 30 ml tube and a 125 ml tube.
