- Ethanol 80% (v/v)
- also for commercial use
- Hygienic hand disinfection (effectively according to EN 1500 - 30 seconds)
- Surgical hand disinfection (effectively according to EN 12791 - 90 seconds)
- The 500 ml and 1000 ml bottles are compatible with the corresponding commercially available euro donation systems
What distinguishes a good disinfectant?
- It causes the cell death of the pathogen and is germicid (bactericidal / fungicide)
- Makes virus harmless (virucid)
- Is particularly skin -friendly
In order for these optimal conditions to be met, an active substance content of 80% or isopropyl alcohol or isopropanol (abbreviated IPA) must contain a share of 70%. A different dosage is significantly less effective compared to pathogens or viruses. The basis of the disinfectant also specifies the characteristic smell. In order to improve skin friendliness with very frequent use, a dashing additive is recommended.
When should you use disinfectant?
A disinfectant does not replace any basic hand hygiene by washing with soap. Furthermore, there are no fixed rules. Whenever you are in a situation in which the threat of pathogens negatively affects your personal well -being, the grip for the disinfectant is recommended. However, this limit is fluid. The diarrhea of a household member may make this necessary as well as a global pandemic.
You achieve the best effect with a thorough hand washing with soap and the subsequent disinfection with Ballistol hand disinfection.
However, this ideal case does not always exist:
Example shopping: Many transmission routes offer shopping carts, pawns as well as packaged goods that have been touched by different people, and, last but not least, the pay terminal. After there is no way to wash your hands here, you disinfect your hands on site and wash them thoroughly at home.
Example public transport: Temporary handles serve their security while driving. Doors usually open automatically, but sometimes also have to be activated using the button. The following also applies here: disinfect on site and catch up with soap thoroughly at the next opportunity.
Disinfect hands correctly:
Hygienic hand disinfection according to CEN EN 1500.
Fill Ballistol hand disinfection into the hollow, dry Hand (corresponds to approx. 3 - 5 ml). Perform the hand disinfection step by step with both hands for a total of 30 seconds. Repeat every step several times until the time mentioned has passed. Keep your hands moist throughout the entire process, possibly dose disinfectant. Do not dry.
