Ballistol hand disinfection - laboratory-tested quality and proven effectiveness for professional and private users.

Ready-to-use, highly effective alcoholic antiseptic for hygienic and surgical hand disinfection (according to VAH methods, EN 1500 and EN 12791). Applicable in all areas of human hygiene. Very good skin tolerance when used frequently.

We have been producing disinfectants for hospitals, pharmacies and doctors' practices for more than 10 years. We are approved as a pharmaceutical manufacturer and manufacture under the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines. Each batch is tested and approved in our in-house laboratory. This meets GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) approval. Ballistol hand disinfection is a separate approved biocidal product (N-90386) and is neither subject to the general decree of the BAuA (Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) nor to a time limit. The professional, pharmaceutical production method means there is no need for additives such as hydrogen peroxide.

What makes a good disinfectant?

• It causes the cell death of pathogens and is germicidal (bactericidal / fungicidal)
• Makes viruses harmless (virucidal)
• Is particularly skin-friendly

In order for these optimal conditions to be met, ethanol-based disinfectants must contain an active ingredient content of 80% or isopropyl alcohol or isopropanol (IPA for short) must contain a content of 70%. A different dosage is significantly less effective against pathogens or viruses. The base of the disinfectant also provides the characteristic smell. In order to improve skin-friendliness with very frequent use, a moisturizing additive is recommended.

When should you use disinfectants?

A disinfectant does not replace basic hand hygiene by washing with soap. Furthermore, there are no fixed rules. Whenever you are in a situation in which the threat of pathogens negatively affects your personal well-being, it is recommended to use disinfectant. However, this boundary is fluid. The diarrheal illness of a household member may make this necessary, as may a global pandemic.

You can achieve the best effect by thoroughly washing your hands with soap and then disinfecting them with Ballistol hand disinfectant.

However, this ideal case is not always the case:
Example purchasing: Many transmission channels offer shopping carts, deposit machines as well as packaged goods that have been touched by different people and, last but not least, the payment terminal. Since there is no possibility to wash your hands here, disinfect your hands on site and wash them thoroughly again at home.

Disinfect hands properly:

Hygienic hand disinfection according to CEN EN 1500.
Fill Ballistol hand disinfection into the hollow, dry Hand (corresponds to approx. 3 - 5 ml). Carry out hand disinfection step by step with both hands for a total of 30 seconds. Repeat each step several times until the specified time has elapsed. Keep your hands moist throughout the entire process and add disinfectant if necessary. Do not dry off.
