FAQ

How do I care for my sauna cabin?

1. Use a towel

We recommend that you place a towel on the bench or lounger while using it. It is best to cover the floor with a heat-resistant plastic mat or a wipeable cork floor. The towel and floor mat protect the wood from sweat, which can cause bacteria, viruses and fungi to accumulate over time. After completing the treatment, immediately remove the towel from the cabin.

2. Be sure to ventilate well

After the wellness treatment, leave the infrared sauna door open so that the sauna is well ventilated. If there is a window in the room, you should open it briefly to let fresh air in.

3. Regular cleaning

To ensure that you enjoy your sauna in the long term, it must be cleaned at regular intervals. For the seats, use a slightly damp cloth with mild soap. Then wipe with a little clear water and rub dry. You can easily clean the floor with a vacuum cleaner. Over time, stains form on the wood. You can remove these with standard sandpaper with a grit of 180 to 200.

  •  Danger: Do not use aggressive cleaning agents to clean your sauna. Abrasives and bleach attack the wood and make it unsightly over time. Also avoid using sharp, pointed or abrasive cleaning utensils.

Why should you buy a garden sauna?

In general, taking a sauna strengthens your cardiovascular system, strengthens your immune system and relaxes your muscles. In Scandinavian countries, the solid wood sauna is often located outdoors and for good reason. Because the sauna bath is special there revitalizing and strengthening the immune system, when the temperatures inside and outside differ greatly. A significant advantage of a home sauna: you buy yours personal wellness oasis to relax. Use it whenever and with whomever you want in your private area - without any strangers who could disrupt a relaxing experience.

We would particularly like to recommend the outdoor sauna to nature lovers. After a stressful day, treat yourself to a sauna bath in the barrel. Enjoy it from there Look into your garden paradise or the calming nature. Whether in summer, autumn, winter or spring – sauna directly in a natural environment. Isn't it cozy to sit in a comfortably warm cabin in rainy weather or a snow flurry and let your mind wander? Or experience the unique evening atmosphere with a romantic sunset through the windows or door.

First steps, material & models

As with all purchases, you should clarify basic conditions beforehand. Where do you have enough outdoor space such as the garden or terrace Space for the garden sauna? Which size fits? Note that the Way to the shower or into the house is not too far. So that you can quickly get back to warm rooms on cold days. Otherwise, you also have the opportunity to cool down in the fresh air after a sauna session and refresh yourself with a solar shower.

Think about which ones form you prefer (e.g. sauna barrel, garden sauna house, log cabin sauna, Saunakota) and for how many people (e.g. sauna barrel for 4 people) it is designed. A powerful oven brings you the desired temperature quickly. Do you prefer special features for comfortable sauna bathing, such as a bench or atmospheric lighting? And which one Accesories (Sauna stones, buckets, spoons, etc.) do you need?

Of course, costs also play an important role when purchasing. Consider yours Price range and note what additional expenses will be incurred (entertainment, additional accessories, design of the wellness area, etc.). If necessary, find out about your project from the responsible building authority.

Is a foundation required?

A garden sauna should always have a firm footing. In order for this to be possible on all surfaces, you must lay a foundation, similar to a normal garden house. The sauna foundation also increases the lifespan of the sauna because it protects against moisture, frost and loss of static.

A solid foundation is the be-all and end-all. The more weatherproof your foundation, the safer your house can stand on it. A distinction is made between solid, strip or point foundations. The last two foundations are not recommended for a garden sauna. As these only cover some areas and it can lead to moisture entering the house.

A full foundation is a slab, concrete or stone foundation that covers the entire area. This should always be approx. 10 cm larger than your garden sauna and have an elevation of approx. 5 cm. This ensures that there is no splashing water or waterlogging. If you want to create a foundation, the most common way to do this is with patio or sidewalk slabs. If you secure your foundation firmly, your sauna house will not sink in the future.

Is the outdoor sauna weatherproof?

Yes! When choosing a home outdoor sauna, the quality of the wood plays a crucial role in ensuring long-term enjoyment. What is important is one weather-resistant wood and roof - especially if the sauna has to be free-standing without a patio roof or something similar. Our models are made of spruce, which is dimensionally stable, robust and weather-resistant.

Is the outdoor sauna insulated?

There is one for economical sauna use optimal thermal insulation capacity necessary. Our modern barrel saunas and the sauna house made of high-quality spruce wood have this feature and are energy-saving. For barrel sauna: The round shape enables high efficiency in terms of heat circulation. The barrel thus prevents high energy costs because it heats up faster than conventional cabins. The heat is distributed evenly.

Sauna instructions for beginners!

The sauna cycle and its 3 phases

In contrast to an infrared cabin, the processes in a sauna are much more complex. Here you will find everything you need to optimally prepare and carry out your wellness treatment. The sauna session is divided into 3 phases that build on each other and complement each other. The warming phase, the cooling phase and the resting phase. If you miss a step or push yourself too hard, the recovery effect is invalid and you risk circulatory problems. You should allow 1-3 hours for the cabin to heat up.

1. The warm-up phase

To begin, you should take a quick, warm shower to remove sweat and dirt from your skin and prepare your body for the sauna temperatures. You go into the sauna unclothed, with a towel and sit or lie down on the benches of different heights, depending on your preference. The higher up you are, the higher the temperatures are.

After a few minutes, the highlight of the sauna begins for most lovers: the infusion! Here, a large amount of water is often poured onto the stones with a trowel, which drastically increases the humidity and the perceived temperature. Very often there is a sauna scent such as eucalyptus or spruce in the water. After about 10 - 15 minutes you should leave the sauna.

2. The cooling phase

After warmth comes cooling down - an important step in cooling the body back to normal temperature. In order not to overload your body and your cardiovascular system, we recommend first taking a short walk in the fresh air. Afterwards you can shower with lukewarm to cold water.

3. The rest phase

Once your body has cooled down, you first need rest and recovery. Take a good book and relax on a lounger for 20 - 30 minutes. Also make sure you drink enough water. Because your body has sweated out a lot. As soon as you are fit again and ready to go, the next sauna session begins.

Sauna session process - the individual steps of how a sauna session should proceed

With the following 11 steps nothing can stand in the way of your sauna visit.

  1. First, undress and, if necessary, go to the toilet.
  2. Clean yourself thoroughly with water to remove sweat, perfume, deodorant, etc.
  3. Dry yourself off and grab your sauna towel.
  4. Enter the sauna for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Lie down and relax while sitting or lying down.
  6. Before you leave the sauna, sit upright again for a few minutes to get your body used to it.
  7. First, cool down outside - a short walk is better for the cardiovascular system than immediately jumping into a cold pool.
  8. Now you can take a cold shower, jump into a cold pool or use a hose to slowly start to cool yourself from your feet up to your heart.
  9. Take enough time to recover. 30 minutes rest period between each sauna session. Don't forget to drink.
  10. Repeat points 1-9 approx. 2-3 times.
  11. After you finish a sauna bath, drink enough fluids and eat a light meal in the form of salad or fresh fruit.
